Hello, I am thinking on doing something similar, how did you do to attach the acrylic piece to your lamp?There may be a lot of solutions but I am trying to find the "cleaner" one for that.

Both showing UV absorbtion, anyone know if this is true UV or if it affects 395+nm? Thinking about grabbing a sheet for my 2 diy fixtures.

Most acrylics cut off around 400nm.
"Exact" cutoff and loss %'s are sort of err flexible.

Colorless ACRYLITE® cast and premium sheet have very small amounts of light transmission below 345 nm. In the range from 345 to 395 nm, the light transmission varies with sheet thickness. Between 395 and 1000 nm, all thicknesses transmit 92%. A dense diffuser that creates an even field of soft, shadowless light. Excellent for combining multiple lighting fixtures into a single, large area source. Tough, heat resistant base.

FWIW...

I ordered two types diffusion material from Rosco and decided to use their 'Cinegal 1/2 Density Soft Frost' (#3004) since it is less dense than the Cinegal Tough White 1/2 Density Soft' (#3027) and allows through about 1/2 of the shimmer compared to using no diffuser (important to me as I'm not a big fan of the flat T5 look). I mounted this material on top of a 1/32" sheet of clear polycarbonate and measured ~15% reduction in PAR.

The diffusion effect at a low setting (not as pronounced as many diffusion materials, which is exactly what I was looking for):



Although I had quite even light spread with good color mixing without the diffuser, it was still helpful adding it to further enhance blending of the various wavelengths.
