bumping this, since I'm going to play with diffusion panel and SB reef lights. I see that the acrylite product is "uv absorbent." Would this be an issue with absorbing beneficial UV or are they just talking about UV-B and UV-C absorbant. Do we have to worry about the acrylic "yellowing" due to UV?

I did find a polycarbonate product as well that might be a candidate: https://www.curbellplastics.com/Res...hnical-Resources/Makrolon-Lumen-XT-Data-Sheet
I honestly wouldn’t sweat it too hard.
I have almost no clue what the acrylic is on my 55. My brown vileda colored up in two weeks. And I have a blue one. (Two years and I found out it’s blue;Facepalm).
I also have 3/4 acrylic lids.
I’ll see if I stil have some with the name brand if you like (#reefhoarder)

And no , no yellowing after two years.

Those little dimples look like they'd make better lenses than diffusers..

Interesting idea, is it one that's sticky on the back?

I'm not sure it is really called as sticky or not.. :p
But this is a anti-slip mat, so whenever it seat in on shelf/table, it will stay there.

But what i worry about it, is the heat from the light transferring to the mat.
I had ordered a china black box, but not so soon going to reach. Will try on that.

Yes. Works well. Less diffusion than some commercially sold.
Good cuz it cuts less light.

I found a stick on diffuser material that is designed for bathrooms for privacy. It seems to let through plenty of light and is cheap at $10 for a roll that is quite big. Peels right off too when needed. When put on paper you can read through it clearly and at a distance you can still see shapes so I’m looking forward to trying this on my up and coming Giesseman Infinity conversion to LED

This would not work as the pattern would show through I know this because I have tested a solid plastic version which a similar pattern. Check the bathroom section of your department store for a roll of stick on privacy screen :)

Where did you find this? I've also been looking for opaque stencil sheets. Our local craft store Michaels only has a greenish and blue tinted stencil roll.

Yup. I've been using some in my ai sols for close to a year I think.

I tried a bunch of different pro photography and lighting stuff. Also I picked up some frosted glass to. But it was too green.
I'm using sanded plexi glass and it's held up well.
Any chance you have info on how much this reduces PAR? I just added a sanded plexiglass panel over my LEDs for diffusion and I want to try to hit the same PAR range still.
