Legal/tax question...

I just got my w-2's and after reviewing them I noticed that my salary for the year was short by one paycheck. After doing the math it seems that I only have 25 paychecks(paid bi-weekly) on my w-2 for 2010, and that paycheck #26 from 12/18-12/31 is going to be on my 2011 w-2... I'm not worried about myself so much I guess, but was wondering if this could be a mistake that could impact my employer since I actually made more last year than what was stated.

for the employer I think it would depend on when they do year end, may be different over there but our business tax and personal tax are not the same date

My year does not run Jan. 1- Dec. 31.
Since I get paid every other Friday, it seems to end where my employers pay period ends.

The thing is I'm salaried and know exactly how much I should have made last year(made the same amount for 2 years now) and my gross on the w2's is one paycheck short.... should be the same from one year to the next.

OH! I see where you are going with this now.
Yeah this would have to be answered by a tax pro in my opinion.
