As an update... these quick disconnects are AWESOME. Not cheap and don't feel cheap either. Works great.
I got the "no drip" version for my 1/2" x 50' hose that's always full of water. Didn't bother for the short 3/4" hose. Quick disconnects at the PVC side are the same for both hose sizes - very nice touch.

Step 1... I was able to actually get this indoors in the laundry room. Stacked the washer/dryer and was able to keep the utility sink over in the corner.

Now the plumbing!

@jazzmik Borrowed your idea and picked up a 36" version of the storage rack that you bought.

Rural King used to ship the 65 and 75 gallon containers for free. When they started charging 140ish to ship the containers I decided I should go ahead and pickup another 40 gallon. The 40 gallon will ship for around $10 in my case. Having 80 gallons of stored RODI water should last me right at 2 months.

My next project is figuring out the best way to run my RODI line through the dry wall from the laundry room into the garage. The garage is NOT temperature controlled, I am worried about condensation in between the dry wall. Is this a legitimate concern? Or should I drill the 1/4" hole and run the line through?

The 2x4's aren't touching the top rack, I had them laying around and decided to throw them in between the shelves for additional security.

Need to pickup another 3/4" slip to thread fitting. These containers will not be recirculating water, I had left over parts so I went ahead and used the fittings and ball valves. May actually put a gate valve on the down spout in an effort to keep the kids from turning either valve or both in the "ON" position.

@pelphrey I'm not 100% sure about the condensation. Maybe you could install some lightweight irrigation 1/2" PVC and running the 1/4" tubing through there??

Wow - I wish I saw this thread before this past weekend!! I plumbed my water mixing station after looking at pictures on google.

My question now is... I used food grade storage barrels (the round blue ones), Given they are not opaque I do not have an idea of how much water is in them. Is there an easy way to figure out how much salt to mix in given I do not know the water level in the mixing barrel?

A couple of uniseals, couple elbows, and clear tubing does the trick. My first station is in the picture below. Notice the clear tubes on the sides with 5 gallon marks.

Looking to set up my own water mixing station soon. Would the Jebao DCT 12000 be overkill? I would be using it for transferring, recirc, and then once I upgrade my tank, I would be using it to pump to the sump maybe 20 feet away with <5ft of rise (possibly even a drop depending on how I set it up.

I just purchased some 175 gallon water storage containers, maybe overkill but oh well. What do you recommend cleaning the inside with before use, vinegar?

Vinegar is what I personally used. Let it soak for a little bit, give them a scrub, rinse well and sun dry.

So since they're 175 and I don't want to fill both with 175 could I just scrub with vinegar, rinse and let dry ?

Assuming they are new, then yes, just use a diluted solution, scrub, rinse and dry. If they're used, what they were used for may require something different.

Reaching out for some advice. My RODI is in my temp controlled laundry room, my water storage is in my garage that is NOT temp controlled. Here in Kentucky it gets hot and humid in the summers and pretty cold in the winters. My garage has 1 outside wall plus the door, the other 2 walls are surrounded by the house and there is a bedroom above the garage.

I want to run some Mur-lok line through the wall from the laundry room and into the garage. My concern is the line sweating and creating a problem inside the wall. I only intended to create a hole big enough to push the 1/4" line through. My other concern is the length of the run, when it is all said and done it will be a 30-40 foot run.
