So I’ve had these guys together for a long time I believe a small rainbow bta I added has some type of bacterial infection. I have treated the tank with chemi clean. Aslo have another medication bath I’m putting them in but is the bath necessary? Yes I’m aware of how bad it is to use antibiotics if they are not disposed of correctly. I’m using cypro and my method of disposal is letting the 1 gallon tub evaporate and then toss it in the trash if anyone has any better methods of disposal I’m all ears.

i dont think you need to toss out the tub every time you do a cipro treatment. it should degrade with time and carbon usage.
did you just add the rainbow and then everything started happening?
what did you dose chemi clean for?

Cipro degrades quite rapidly when exposed to light. That is why it is normally dosed at night. I think your disposal method is fine to be honest.

Yes basically I was having really good luck mixing them it wasn’t untill I found I really nice rainbow bta I added. my maroon clown likes to jump from nems so I believe that’s how it spread. Symptoms are usually just deflation bubbling tentacles and then they start to degrade and lose all tentacles I’ve had this happen before and a cypro dip work but I only had 1 now I don’t know if I should dip all of them and getting them off the rock will not be easy.

Also I’ve had luck treating tanks with bacterial problems especially affecting LPS with chemiclean and it definitely is helping but I don’t know if it’s enough for this perticular problem.

Update after putting the worste one in cipro for 4 days the others just under double dose chemi clean for 48 hours then 50%water change and carbon. Everyone still sulking but they are deflating less and staging full of water more.

Slowly but surely they are coming back, i feel like i had better result with just the chemi clean since 3 nems were in really bad shape but only dipped my Chicago sunburst and it did help but I don’t feel it was necessary I also did alot of water changes with water from my well established sps dominated tank. I’ll post again when they actually look like rbtas
