yours are nice, but dream on! lol
I guess "beauty is in the eyes of the beholder."
I value the interesting pattern, the multiple colors of green, blue purple, gold, black....
I would pick mine over your's any time.
But that is why I am me and you are you.

Clams like these are the ultimate Crocea IMO, not uniform florescent blue.

These are the clams I got from ORA yesterday. 5 Crocea clams that are about 1 inch and 4 Maxima clams that are about 3 inches. Plus 4 Gigas that are about 5 inches. Many thanks to Ali from Amazing Aquariums & Reefs, and to Jordan from ORA. I really have not seen Crocea this beautiful for years. The Maxima are no slouch either. The Gigas are usual Gigas.

Too bad they are not all mine. :)

Nice those look like Okinawan croceas! Jealous of the maximas and gigas. Can’t get gigas here :(

Nice! I was at Ali’s a couple of weeks ago and he had some really nice maximas, both ORA and Aussie wild caught. There was a super cool green maxima that I wanted, but didn’t have any $$ on me at the time. I was hoping for croceas, so I might have to see if he has any left? Those croceas are awesome!

I wanted him to MO from him but that rascal would not mail them. These clams were drop shipped from ORA.
Ali is a friend of mine for 20+ years but only through corespondents. Never meet in person. Next time I am in California I got to make a point to meet him.

That’s great! I’m glad they have crocea again, I’ve been waiting for some small ones for a while. Next time I’m in, I’ll mention your name to Ali. I’m sure I talked to you on the phone when I worked at Tropicorium in the 90’s. I remember shipping clams and coral packs on a weekly basis. Those were fun days.

I order from Tropicorium in the 90’s. Clams and corals. It is likely that you pack shipment to me in Seattle at the time.
This is a small world, especially for the few longtime reefers like us.

I’ll never understand grades on clams… they’re all beautiful in their own ways! It’s like fish, why throw a grade on a fish when they’re all special.

Anyway, here’s my Maxi and Deresa.

not a huge fan of the dark blue with metallic little dots as on the outside of these. Most usually see that in grade B clams. Give me solid turquoise any day.
To each his own.

BUT
My clams cried because you insulted them. Call them grad B!!!!!!!!

I didn't invent the grading system. And I didn't call them grade B...I was just comparing some of their features to the more inexpensive clams. Sheesh! Hope your clams don't need therapy now! lol

Totally agree! I want a hippopus, but haven't seen them available in a long time, hopefully that will change soon?

Brought this derasa home on Sunday evening and it didn’t have any growth on the shell, but under the right conditions for a few days I have 2.5mm of new growth.
You start to have a clam collection. But two Derasa? I thought you were worry that one will bust your tank. :)

Just one derasa for now. I have two maximas and one noae in my main display. I'll will most likely upgrade to the IM 150ext in a year or two, so I have time once I move the derasa to my 90g. I'm going to add two croceas to my mangrove lagoon, especially now that ORA has small ones available. Then I'll add a hippopus to the main display when I find one. Hopefully I can find another noae in the future? I wish I would've picked up one of the noae's from the batch you bought from, those were some killer deals/clams.
My main goal for my big display is to only have acropora and clams (and only a single LPS for my clowns to hang out in) and that's it.
