Mine are temperamental. They will open and close at random a few times a day. God forbid my clown or damsel try hosting in it. It will fully retract if either one touches it.

I give mine Med-High flow and light. Only food it gets is @ 2x broadcast feeding at night. Place it and leave it alone. Mine don't like to be moved around. Mine add 1-2 heads a month. Hope this helps.;)

Uggghh I've had one of my Duncan's for about a year and it's only grow one more head. I got it when it was a single head with a baby. Now the baby has matured but that's it. They look great but are prob extending for light. I feed mine reef roids and mysis. Moderate flow. I'm guessing if I gave it more light it would grow more. I'd say low light is what I have mine in. But it's happy and everything else is happy so I'm leaving it alone. Just would like it to fill out alittle better.

Here are my two. They get full light about 18 inches from Orphek light fixture. Lots of flow but not direct. One started with three heads and one started with two heads. They are about 3 years old both are over seventy heads now and 10-12 inches in diameter. Do not direct feed.
