What type exercise you give them, what makes them the happiest?

They are certainly not a dog for everyone! However this can mostly be said for a lot of dogs

Love Boxers! was really considering them but my wife said no after reading they tend to drool alot. haha she has a little OCD, i had to agree to let her get a rumba for the hair.

Yea they do drool, but mostly when they smell food or when I am about to feed them.. I rescued my female 10 years ago and rescued the male 1 year ago.

That size I like boston terriers or french bulldogs. Try to find ones with larger snouts though. Not so smushed. I have English Mastiffs and a Bloodhound mutt over 110lbs, so those will not work for you. Here are some of my past and present doggies.

Jade my first doggie after college. Great dog. Klondike my first Mastiff. Fun most of the time.
Napoleon my best baby ever. Cannot replace this amazing dog. Still miss him every day.
Moose my bloodhound mix. He is goofy and funny and a challenge at most times, but love him anyway.
Pancake my current Mastiff. A great dog that is basically a rug that eats.

Australian Shepard's require a lot of exercise, like a ton! What other qualities are you looking for in a dog besides size?

good with kids and other dogs, have a black lab, bascheen, and boxer at siblings and parents houses. also intelligence, easy to train, some watchdog traits, and of course for the wife and girls needs to be cute, haha. Exercise shouldnt be a problem, we have a trail close to our house, its a few miles around the east side of town through some corn fields.

I don't believe it's very common and they're illegal in some states. Here in Utah you have to get one from a licensed breeder with paperwork so you can prove they are captive bred. They also are definitely not a pet for everyone. They are a lot of work and get into everything. They're also very very smart and sneaky. My whole house is fox proofed like crazy haha

Here's Tucker, he is a miniature goldendoodle (golden retriever/miniature poodle mix)

He's full grown coming in right under 25 lbs. We actually went to pick him up with the intentions of him being full size. Didn't see in the ad anywhere that he was a mini, but that doesn't really matter. We love him!

And he barely sheds at ALL!! That was a must for me.

very cool, that was actually on the list. there are so many breeds I like its hard to narrow it down. I really like the collie look, my first dog was a collie farm dog my parents got when I was 2 and grew up with her until high school. I know my wife would love the no shedding part! and the kiddos love their aunts bascheen's fluffiness:)

A lab would definitely be my top choice, my wife had a bad experience with a lab when she was younger though. My parents have a 2 yr old black lab on the farm, and just lost the the other one last year, she was 14 and we rescued her after being dumped by a puppy mill breeder. she was very loyal and protective.

These are my babies the first is my pug eating a candy cane lol the second is my rescue a west highland terrier or a westie. I would recommend a pug they are awsome with kids my westie is a grouch although he could be due to the fact that he was abused :oops: both are my babies tho.
