Light recommendations needed. I’m picky about spectrums.

I already gave my recommendations earlier, I think this might help you further visualize the differences:

An old video I shot a couple of years ago that shows the spectrum I run on peak, which resembles a mixture of MH + T5 hybrid:

And of course, it can go as white and as blue or purple as you wish.

I like them a lot, but they are missing that 660nm red peak that I really want.

Fill the need with some quanta bars. I’m a firm believer all spot lights should have supplemental bars anyways. Little to no shadowing :)

Is this the guy that spun these up on the side?
Hmm I’m not sure what you mean by that.
The owner is ex-Intel and it’s his own private company. As far as I know this is all he does for a living.

I need my replacement light to fit within my existing foot print though.
They are physically similar in size to the XR15, but pushing 265W compared to the 215W of the XR30. So you should be able to mount them space wise. That said - you will likely need to make some adapters.

They actually have plenty, it’s a bit confusing given that it also has so much blue - but in practice, this is the excess I talked about earlier which allows you to go from heavy blues to full spectrum while preserving high PAR.

Or in other words - it’s scaling.

Keep in mind that warm whites ( depending on the k temp) can add plenty of 660 red, and other reds/ambers/yellow
Peak is 602nm..

@DanyL

How’s the mobile programming? Is it easy and intuitive?

Taking another look at it, I think I might choose that instead. I like the daylight look you can achieve.

They sell 2.1s now.

I had concerns about the interface at first, but honestly - I find it far more intuitive than others.

It is bare though, not in functionality (which it has plenty of), but rather in how it looks.

I have both.

The changes are in the 90 deg reeflectors (more even spread), power supply (upgraded to allow chaining), and a thicker glass.

Here the meridian map. No red, but everyone send to love theirs and they end the day cheaper and with fewer plugs than most other options I know about.

Older models can be upgraded to the newer reflectors etc if you want as well.

ReeFi® Uno 2.1 Pro Improvements:
• New 90° ReeFlectors v2 installed
• Thicker glass panel
• Beefer 320W power supply

Is it an App or online? Either can work. It looks very intuitive to me.

I’m most likely going to get the Reefi instead. I like the results of DanyL. That’s the look I’m trying to achieve.

I do like the spectrum a bit more looking at it closer.

I forgot to ask this, how is their customer support?

I ordered Radion G6 from my LFS, but I can still cancel it/change it. The more I read, the more I worry that I made the wrong choice.

Here’s my criteria:

Strong 430nm and 450nm peak, with a wide blue band.

I need enough Reds at 660nm. It should have a nice peak that I can adjust.

I also need some amber light at 600nm, but this is less critical. Just enough is OK.

The lights would ideally be well built and easily adjustable with an app. It would also be high powered that can push par. I don’t want to worry about certain diodes constantly burning out, etc.

What do you think fits my criteria?

You left off budget. Also individual channel control if that is your jam.

You def made the wrong choice with Radion. Cancel it asap!

It’s web based. Wo

its web based. Daniel recommends running it through chrome. So download chrome app and keep page open and it’s essential an app.

Daniel the owner is a phone call/email away pretty much 24/7. It’s the best customer service! Look at the Reefi Facebook group as well. Everyone’s super helpful and instant responses.

Individual channel control is very important.

If it costs more than a Radion I don’t want it. The radions was already pushing it, but I chose them because my LFS gave me a better price than online.

But I do believe they are too expensive.

I will!! I’m so lucky it’s on back order. My LFS said it would take about a month. I’m messaging him now.

@DanyL yeah, this is the cat. I read about his background. Hmmm.

On the adapters, yeah, I had custom ones made for the Radions, as long as there are 4 screw holes on the top side and the foot print is the same or smaller, I can get it in my rack. Sounds like I need to do a little more hole work. Where would you start reading up on these more so?

I’m aware, and have upgraded one of mines to match the other 2.1 I have.

It’s neither lol
It’s a local web interface - meaning you use your browser to access the interface, but it doesn’t need an internet connection (all done locally).

He went beyond my expectations from my weird custom requests, to ensuring delivery in tight timelines, followed it closely and made sure everything will arrive on time.
He sent me replacements reflectors to my aging Uno 1 after the 3 years warranty was already over - for free, and he is always quick to respond.

Honestly, one of the best I’ve ever encountered.
