Are there any sources for setting recommendations for the Kessil Ap9x, other than the BRS video? It’s a couple years old now. I’d love to see what others have their settings set on for LPS,SPS or mixed reef. Any tips or hacks for it? I think it’s a great light and am looking to purchase another.

Here’s my settings fwiw.
10 inches over the water. Moon lighting comes on at 8 and is on the moon phase setting. Regular lights on at 9, ramp up then starts ramping down at 1500, very low intensity at 1900 when they turn off. I like to have the intensity ramp way down as that allows corals and sand sleepers to get “ready for bed”. The gonis and Duncan start closing closer to lights out, and around 1830 the halichorus Chrysus start looking for their beds

My ap9x has been running for 2 months, coraline algae already started, I seeded the tank and had Tonga and Marshall island rock that I saved from one of my 120 tanks 20 years ago .

This light is incredible, the shimmer is unbelievable. Add in the fact that you can program it for any schedule and color ramp up you desire, I am not sure why more people aren't using this light. Here's my lighting schedule. Notice it has clouds and thunderstorms built in. Programming is not hard, just play with it, you will figure it out pretty quick

I've been running my Kessil on a similar schedule too another post here. I ramp it up slowly and then when I get home it's on high power and then a ramp down at night. I also run the moon phase cycle. It's an awesome light with a tremendous amount of Shimmer unlike many others on the market.

I found that in my tank, running it above 60% power burned some corals. I have it 12 in above my tank and in a whiter light it was to much power. I reduced it down to 45% power with approximately 50% Blue from my Peak and everything seems happier. I highly recommend a par meter. With my current light setup I'm at roughly 200 par at the top and roughly 50 at the bottom now.
