So I have my tank already been cycling with live rock for about 1.5 months and I believe im ready for some corals.

Here are my specs:

  • Tank Dimensions: 17.72"(L) x 17.72"(W) x 17.72"(H)
  • Stand Dimensions: 17.72"(L) x 17.72"(W) x 30"(H)
  • Tank Capacity: 24 Gallons
  • Glass Thickness: 8mm
  • Filtration Flow Rate: 475GPH
  • Lighting: 30W LED 12K White & Actinic
  • LED Lighting with Independent Water-resistant Switches
  • Custom Nano Protein Skimmer
  • Flexible Return Outlet
  • LED Moon Lighting (Full Actinic)
  • Includes Glass Lid
  • Matching Stand (Black/Brown/White)

I was wondering what type of corals will grow big and colorful under my 12k lighting. Thank you.

You can't go wrong with a neon green toadstool in a new tank. They grow relatively quickly, but not out of control, and they are very colorful.

If you want to try your hand at an easy sps, there are many colorful montipora digitata that would probably be fine in a bright spot. You can make the most of your relatively white light by getting a purple one, which is harder to appreciate in a very blue tank.
