Hi all,

I just picked up a 12" cube tank (thanks JR's Reef!) and trying to figure out some lighting for it. Hoping not to break the bank and I'm thinking of something that is self-supporting. I.e. not legs on top of the tank. I'm on the fence with hanging a fixture for this tank. If I hang it, it'll probably be from a DIY light bracket stand type thing. I'm thinking of a clamp light. (Unless those are problematic?)

The tank is basically going to be a small frag tank plumbed into a display tank. I kept promising I wasn't going to put frags in the display. And.. Well.. I've got 7 full frag-a-racks in it.
:D

Point being, the tank will have a frag rack in it holding 60-100 frags.

Primarily Zoas/Palys and Echinos. A few SPS.

I've got a couple ideas in mind, but seeking some suggestions too. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Jeremy, try one of those new nano LED spotlights...

if it doesn't have enough spread, send me the frags that need illumination :D

Am I missing something, or is the spread of that guy going to necessitate that I send you 50-90 of the 60-100 frags?
:D

how about a 70watt clip on viper mh. or do T5 set on it

Have you used one of those vipers before? That was actually one of the ones I was thinking of. How good/bad does the clip work?

On the T5s: I'd considered that, but I'm thinking 18 inch T5s would look a bit funny over the 12 inch tank. Thoughts?
