What's every one sch. on lighting? I set mine for at 7am blues on 1% and ramps up all the way until 8 at night. Is this to much lighting on my corals? Should i start it later in the morning or stop earlier?? Thanks

My blue leds come on at 11 whites come on at 12 then go off at 7 and blues off at 8. I'm running both at 25 percent for the entire cycle

Today I rented a Par meter for these cheap Chinese light panels I got on eBay. After taking tons of measurements I felt compelled to share them with y'all. Some of you I think will be very surprised. All measurements are with both switches in the on position and dimmer knobs at the same percentages. Measurements are distant from light and center of tank. In water. Lights 10" above waterline. 30" represents my sand bed

So the next question is if i run my lights at 75% for 1.5 hrs in mid day. Which corals need 400 range of par?? SPS only or do some LPS need that light range also? If would be really nice if someone had a chart of coral light ranges.

Yes I posted them in this thread already for you. You should ask your lfs what par they have on the sand bed in their grow out tanks. My lfs has a Par of 150 on their sand bed

Here is what the corals receive according to Fossa and Nilsen...Modern Coral Reef Aquarium Vol1

DaytimeLUX.jpg

Consider the peak intensity about a 400 watt MH at 24" under water...425-500 PAR free air.

I like to see 200-250 PAR on the sand bed which is a 10K Ushio on a 30 deep tank.

Another thing to consider is the Generic Chinese Fixture (resold under many names) do not use Binned Cree XT-E or XP-G Whites which offer a more desired spectrum.
