Hey guys, do fish have a certain amount of recommended sleeping time?

The reason I ask is my new Hydra lights I’ve set them to start at 1pm and finish at 10pm (1hr ramp time) in order for me to get a look at everything when I get home from work late.

But is this ok to do? What I’m wondering is once the sun etc comes up at 7am the fish will wake up anyway? And then am I keeping them awake unnecessarily until 10pm and disturbing their sleep pattern? I don’t know much about it.

That is just fine. They will adapt.

Mine start coming on about 5:30 AM with slower sun rise so I can feed the fish before I leave for work, they stay on the dimmer side until about 2 PM and then ramp up so I can see them when I get home and sunset starts about 7:30 and moon light until about 11 PM before going dark. So far no complaints from my fish other than my puffer does like an extra cup of coffee on the weekends.
