Mine were delivered a day late due to incompetency (no, not storms) by FedEx. All livestock arrived well and healthy.

I bought a lot of fish from Live Aquaria/Diver’s Den for the last year and all of them arrived before 10:30 AM (or earlier) through UPS.
My order that is out for delivery today is not here yet (11:30 AM) right now.
So it looks like there is a change on the delivery timing.

Here is LAs response to my qustion about shipping:
We sincerely apologize, however we are unable to offer a guaranteed delivery time for UPS Next Day Air. UPS offers guaranteed delivery by 10:30 am, only if the package is received by 11:30 am on the date it ships. The last pick-up time from our shipping facilities is by 5:00 pm. UPS has from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm to deliver the package. UPS does offer a “Will Call” option, if you would like to pick package up at the local UPS Customer Service Center. You can request to have the order ship to the UPS Customer Service Center for pick up when placing the order or request a “Will Call” once you receive the tracking information.

Thank you for choosing LiveAquaria for your live aquatic needs. You are a valued customer and we look forward to hearing from you in the future.

If we can be of any additional assistance, please feel free to contact our LiveAquaria Department at 1-800-334-3699 or via email at [email protected]. We will be happy to answer any question(s) you may have.

Sincerely,

LiveAquaria

For me the switch from by 10:30 to the new 11:30/12:00 is not that big of a deal. If it changed to 3 pm like residential deliveries I would definitely go pick it up at UPS. Oh yea and how is the Diamond Tail doing? Ate right away after acclimation and prazi bath.

Just found out about this change myself, Took the day off to receive an order and tracked when I woke up as per usual and saw the 3-8pm ETA shown.... Kinda bummed out I took the day off. While I’m not really worried about the livestock it’ll definitely make me pause on future orders. I see it as more of an attempt to save them some money on shipping but wonder if they’ll see more losses as a result. In theory it shouldn’t but it could.

I placed an order from a place in NY last year destined for MA and because it was sent the Next Day Saver method they put it on a truck and drove it rather than flying it up. That wound up turning into a 3 day delay and total loss order.

This has to do with UPS' delivery route and where you live on that route has nothing to do with live aquaria
+1... exactly what I was told by the driver on my route... their facility is only 8 miles from my home... my deliveries will arrive in the morning!

The shipping form indicates the order was sent Next Day Saver instead of Next day Air as it used to. Air guaranteed delivery by 10:30am, saver is 7:30pm or there abouts. I'm less than 5 miles from their local sorting facility and always got my orders by 10am. Its definitely a change in LA's shipping practice and will affect people differently depending on how close they may be to a facility.

I get next day air and it's here at 2pm every time. It has to do with where you are on their route. Likely the overnight air wouldn't have been there earlier so no need for LA to spend more for same delivery time.
I sat and B-S'd with the UPS guy for half an hour 2 weeks ago.

I would like to cast a vote for local collection instead of shipping (as much as possible)

Every time we are receiving by shipping we receive new Styrofoam boxes, plastic bags etc.
I was also over excited to receive 15-20+ super well packed boxes of Stendker Discus several times 12 years ago, I cared about the fishes well being over anything, but not so much about what happened with the Styrofoam boxes or thick plastic bags after usage.

Today me an my family are collecting plastic on the local beach weekly and we need a MUCH bigger CUC, since we are not able to keep up at all.

Just saying... please have in mind to re-cycle as much as possible at anytime. If we want to see wild and healthy reefs in the future, the best corrections starts out with our individual actions and re-cycling is a key word.
