Welcome to R2R! Sorry to read that your tank and sump were damaged. Shipping damage does happen occasionally, maybe even a little more than occasionally, with aquariums, especially larger glass ones. They're heavy and fragile, a recipe for potential shipping damage.

Sorry to hear about your tank! It's such a bummer. Last few years on anything bigger than 20G I'll drive quite a distance to get a tank so I can make sure to avoid shipping issues. Hopefully it's getting sorted out and welcome to the crew!

I'm SO sorry to hear of that failure. It sucks. A rough way to start for sure. I've read about Red Sea nightmares on here as well. Not sure of the incidence rate, but it was enough to steer clear of. I have done the emergency tank swap out and it was no fun. Mine was with a no-name used 75g tho. Not Red Sea I think. You'll like it here my friend!
