Longnose butterfly quarantine procedure

I am getting a long nose butterfly online from Petco and want to know what to do with quarantine it for 2 weeks with copper. They are sensitive fish and not sure if they would be able to tolerate copper for that long. As well getting a coral beauty with it as well. Not worried about the coral beauty as it is hardy but the long nose in quarantine from Petco is the question. Would Prazi pro work instead or very low levels of copper for two weeks.

Coral beauties are much more sensitive to copper than the longnose butterflyfish are. Still, both species handle coppersafe/copper power fine, that should be dosed at 2.25 ppm for 30 days, followed by a prazi treatment for flukes. That process is outlined here:

It all looks great but 60 plus days seems a bit excessive 3 weeks should be perfect. Otherwise will follow all those directions as instructed

Not sure what you mean be "excessive" - that's how long the process takes. If you cut corners, it will be less effective. It then becomes a trade off - time versus effectiveness. Even at this time frame, the process isn't 100% effective. Three weeks is below the common time limit for resting stages of parasites, so there is quite a bit more risk there.

Yes but as well putting these two fish under copper and Prazipro for that long affects the fish as well and can stress them out so it works both ways
