Hello R2R

Does anyone know of an active, Florida reef keeping club? Also, is there anyone in FL looking to reboot any of the old reef clubs?

I'm itching to join a local club but I can't seem to find one that's around and kicking.

Welcome to your new home for saltwater reef aquarium resources and fun! Welcome to the family! :D

It sounds like you're looking for a swap swap or more in person get togethers? In this digital age, they may only do that a few times a year. I'd reach out on a few of those Florida boards, they would be the one's who would know best.

I hope you find what you're looking for!

More less yes, coming from Njrc we had those up north, and now that I'm in Florida, I cant seem to find anything like that down here.

Swaps are one thing but after a while, with the local clubs, you start to develop friendships with fellow reefers (atleast I did)....ya know folks you can just talk "tank" with.

Anyways, I'll poke around some of the FL forums and see.

Welcome to Reef2Reef!!! I am not familiar with any reef clubs in central or north Florida. I have seen a few come and go over the years. There are a few active freshwater clubs on the central west coast. We do have three of the top fish stores in the USA that are located in the Orlando area and RAP Orlando is coming soon!!!

I was the president of ORCA "Orlando Reef Caretakers Association" 20 years ago. Not sure if they're still kicking but it was a large group back then. Honestly it seems like the clubs started fading when people started selling online.

Oh and welcome even though you've been here for 10 years. :zany-face:
