lps food ?

i moved all my chalice and a few other lps to a seperate tank from my sps. i wanted to feed them at night when there all out. the question is what free floating food do you suggest? i'm wanting something i can put in the water rather then having to hand feed them. i'll still hand feed them about once a week, but i was hoping there was a perfect size food that would be good for a few times a week. thanks.

Mine enjoys some mysis every now and again...... you could try that????????

I hand feed mine a mixture of brine shrimp, baby brine shrimp and oyster eggs. Then I sprinkle on top some cyclopeeze and coral frenzy. I feed my lps the larger pieces of brine shrimp but sometimes they just spit it out after a couple of hours, so I might rethink that food. The baby brine shrimp and oyster eggs are a little better for their digestion. I only do this once or twice a week. One other time a week I just broadcast a mixture of the coral frenzy and cyclpeeze (great for sps imo).

i do feed oyster eggs and mysis but like fab said sometimes they spit tht out. also some of the frags i just got are no bigger then a bugger! one mysis is bigger then the whole frag, but thats another story... i didn't know if the oyster eggs were to small. i'm going to go buy somemore cylops eaze and i'll try coral frenzy for the first time. what about the snow that i beleive sunny x has been using. is that to small of a food?

You'd be surprised how large their mouth can open! I make a slurry of mysis & bloodworms (defrosted, drained & then soaked overnight in Selcon & Vita-Chem), Cyclopeeze, oyster eggs & Rod's Food, then turn off all flow. I use a turkey baster to coat all my corals that will eat & leave off the flow for at least an hour. I keep the skimmer offline for 24 hours after feeding the tank.

I recently tried the fauna marin LPS food and I'm amazed by the feeding responce. I usually put some oysterr feast in the tank to get everything ready to eat and a couple minutes later go in with mysis and the LPS pellets. My scolies never opened so wide!

Remember, that mysis is a FW food, unless soaked on SW vitamins.

Same here i use a turkey baster to put the food where i want it. I tend to feed mysis, brine, flakes, and pellets. LPS tend to eat everything!
