Being lazy today. I have to shower and move two tanks. I have time, just…. Ugh.

Also the 20 long stand got rained on. Guess it’ll go to the side of the yard with the rest of the “too large to fit in a five body size Camry trunk” trash pile.

I’ve been tossing around if I wanted to work towards the Eden (I certainly do) or upgrade the 10 gallons for the pallifina. What I mean by this is: I need a better light, a lid and a better filter, as well as substrate in there. All in all it’ll be around the same cost but it won’t be all at once. Er… give or take.

So speaking with Leslie with Orphek about the new OR4 30, I decided to dump some money into that lol. Payment sent this morning. We weren’t sure if the little leggies they sell would fit across the 50cm length so I just opted to probably hang it. That is, until this brain of mine got a little overactive. According to things I’ve seen there’s these little brackets that are to mount it to other things. Soooo I’m going to see if the Current USA tank mount would work. It may look absolutely crappy. Will see. Can always hang it waaaaaaaay down cause the tanks so stupidly low. With that said, anyone know of a place that sells stands similar to hat Waterbox/ Red Sea makes but for a 10 gallon? lol.

Next I’ll work on a filter. I don’t know if I want an in tank, or a canister. I’m using a sponge and it works but meh. I like canisters better. Looking at the Sicce pro nano internal. It’s adorable lol.its also cheap, about $30.00 on Amazon. Birthday coming up so hopefully I’ll have some money to save up for these things. Then the kraken lid. That’s last because, cutouts.

Also, as an update on the 70. I have someone supposed to be grabbing the SCA skimmer today. That money will go back for the IOAOI skimmer than I want. I really am enjoying the one in the 35. The toadstool I’m pretty certain is gone. It’s been shrinking daily, even though the flesh is still….fleshy. So I pulled the rock and moved it to the 70, just because I like the rock, I missed the sandbed in the 30 and I wanted to see if there was any chance it would like that better. It’ll pull through or it won’t.

When I do eventually get the Eden I think I want to do a moss wall. I think the fish will really enjoy that. I’m still on the fence about if I want the 20 or the 30. 30 would look better in the space but 20 would be completely fine and easier to maintain plus cheaper. They do still have the Facebook contest so fingers crossed XD

You might contact IOAOI and see if there are tester spots available for the skimmer?

Good idea! I’ll have to make sure I have the cash first so once I get the money up to buy it I’ll see if they have the spot.

If they don't let me know and I'll dig mine out of the closet for ya.

What did you think of it? Did it work well?
well enough. the hose I used to drain it connects pretty poorly, so I was fairly regularly dumping skimmate back in. and the cup isn't easy to get off. but a zip tie would probably fix the first issue and make the second irrelevant.

It was a lot easier to tune than the reef breeders one I have.

Good to know! I’ll definitely keep that in mind when I get it and secure it.

bought a heater for the big tank and ordered another snacklerock for it too. Toadstool still looks to be withering away. Bummer.

I’m not sure what route for a lid I want to go, I love my kraken lid. And I’ll get one for the tan (probably sooner rather than later, once I decide my filter) but I may go with the screen kit. I’m confident I can do it well enough, and I do have a feeder port I printed so may as well get some use lol.

It’s chilly and rainy, so please enjoy this rather goofy shot of River in her Lambchop shirt. Her little booty is nakey from allergies. She’s surprisingly not too annoyed by it. She doesn’t help get it on but she doesn’t run away or freeze in place so that’s a plus lol. Shadow used to lift her leggies for me.

Friday I sent payment to Orphek for the OR4 30. Still no shipping confirmation :(. Bit bummed as I figured it would be sent out Monday or Tuesday. Sigh. I was told by someone to email but I really hate bothering people XD. I don’t want to seem impatient.

Today is rather cold. We have suspected snow coming Friday. I made sure to get the heater in the big tank and everyone else is also warm. I’m across the street freezing holding a hot hands waiting for Russ to get up, and trying to keep Titus out of my lap lol.

Oh I also grabbed some pics of the 35 yesterday :) Nonidea why this Euphilia has decided to have half closed. I’ve been told sometimes they do that. I just hope it’s not trying to die on me. Param check this afternoon. I’ve gotta get some powder for one of the Hannah checkers.

So strangely I have two things coming from the same place. I know one is the orphek led. The other idk. Maybe they accidentally sent two? Or the tracking is just different for some reason. Or it’s a completely different thing that I have no idea what.

And my pods seem happy in there lol.

And the 70.2 is cycling. I need to do a waterchange. Will do one this weekend, as we had the snow this weekend. My levels are *checks facebook*
Ammonia: 1.2
Nitrites: 0.1
Nitrates: 2
Salinity: 1.028
So I guess it’s coming along? No rush. I’ve another rock being sent soon as the weather acts good. Thank you Dinkins for being amazing!

Well that’s a bummer.
IMG_0561.jpeg

I ordered the 30. This is 36”. Too long for a ten gallon lol. I emailed Leslie. Now I have to wait some more. I had plants needing to go under this light.

I know it happens. If I had a 36” tank I’d be elated. I haven’t opened it (even though I really really want to lol) and it’s sadly back in shipping box taking up the back of Rivers couch.

Emailed Leslie and was instructed to open the box and confirm the size. I sent confirmation pics and still am waiting a response in what to do here.

I’ve been told many companies don’t want the stuff back cause they lose money with the shipping and restocking. And with it being open I could see it. And their site says they don’t accept returns. But I do hope the figure something out because I can’t afford another of these, and I can’t wait to see if I can sell this one to buy what I wanted. I need the correct size for the plants I just got :/.

I'd be surprised if they send you the wrong one then make you buy again. whether or not they want the first one back. Hope you get it figured out though.
Thanks and I agree. I’ve checked my invoice several times to make sure it was for the 30. Tom said to check the box as well and I hated opening it up. I knew it was the wrong one by the weight of it. If I get to keep it I’ll find a spot for it I’m sure. Maybe a future project. Who knows.

lol well I mean it would be god to get some correspondence but since sending the measurement pics I’ve not heard a word. No email with a label to print, no email with a tracking number. No nothing. I believe their work day is just starting so maybe tonight. I’d at least like to play with the thing.
