Just noticed today that my porcupine puffer, Steve, has two little brown lumps, one in front of his right fin and the other behind it. Doesn't seem to be impeding his swimming at all, and he's acting like his normal self. None of the other fish in the tank have any of these either. Just wondered if anyone knew what these are and if it's something I should be worried about. Thanks!

Ps. You circled one spot. With the way the picture is it’s hard to see the other. Are either on the fin itself or on the body
Sorry, thought I circled them all. Here's the other pictures of the one in front of his fin. As for how long I've had him, it will be 2 years this July, and these just came on suddenly.

And they are on the opposite side? I’m having a hard time seeing where they are relative to the fin. Also assume
No new additions

No new additions
No new additions to the tank, and they're just on the one side. The bump in first circled picture is right behind his right fin, and the second two pictures show the bump right before his right fin. None actually on the fin, just near it.

This looks an infection and may be post injury as puffers can get clumsy and excited easily. There is no certain pattern for bruising and how long has this been present and since seeing it, has it worsened. If not keep up water quality and keep an eye on it. If it has, suggested in a separate tank is Seachem kanaplex

The pictures are out of focus, but given the sudden onset, it is probably an injury.
What other fish are in with it?

Yeah, he's hard to get pictures of because he's constantly moving. We've got a couple triggers (red tooth and blue jaw) as well as a lieutenant tang. Trigs have never bothered him, but he has had an issue with the tang before. They squabbled over food before but we found a way to separate them before feeding. I'll keep an eye on their behavior together.
