Probably cyano, but that is a pretty strange formation! :)

(Lyngbia looks like hair algae.)

0.2-0.3 PO4
Pretty stable tank with 8 BTAs.

Describe your CUC and their numbers, pls.

BTW, a little cyano is normal.

It’s eyesore to look at! Really want to get rid of it for good. I only have 2 clownfish and a small clown tang to control algae, though he is not very good at eating up all the hair and bubble algae. So i do scrub off the bubble algae every 2 weeks.

I feed the nems with mysis and reef every twice a week. One trachy and one acan.

I run the bio reactor for 6 hours daily.
I also have an 18W inline UV sterilizer.

Don’t have any CUC since beginning.
Will CUC eat cyano?

... at least we know how the outage got established now. 👍

Fish do not count as cleanup crew.

Snails would normally do this job (e.g. turbo) I constantly roaming every square inch of your rock work and eating every little scrap of algae they find.

Unfortunately, for you, once you get established, it doesn't really matter what kind, cleanup crew won't really mess with it anymore. That means it's your job now.

You are a cleanup crew member #1 after all! 😎

Double check that there are no other causes such as using tapwater for your salt water, or expired RODI filters or other unexpected nutrient sources for the tank.

Does your tank get any excessive sunlight?

For cyano, first siphon it out everywhere you can see it. And try to do this every day for a few days and see if that does the trick.

If not, you could try a mini blackout for 1 to 3 days. (do the siphoning work for a few days first and check results before proceeding to this..)

If that doesn't work, there are specific treatments.
