I received a new batch of fish 3/24 and they all went directly into qt. I run a redsea 32 gal aio tank for my qt. In the tank I have a filter pad, skimmer, and power heads.
Water quality should not be any issues with zero tds, I have an 8 stage ro/Di system and run aqua forest salt. I do water changes every 3-4 days to remove any contaminates.
Upon receipt of these fish none looked to have anything on them or sick. After a day on being in qt the male lyretail looked to have a gash on it head. After a couple days it was bigger and then today it looks really big and wide open. I fresh water dipped the fish and nothing fell off of it.
At first thought maybe lympho but it really does not look like it. I’m at a loss and looking for some help in identifying what it is and possible treatment. Anyone who could help please give me some suggestions.
attached are a few pics in progression of the disease. First batch of pics are just iPhone and best I could do. Last batch I caught him and used the Nikon with macro lens to get best shots I could.
Thank you in advanced for any help!!
