It has been perhaps 20 years since I have had a salt water tank. Many things have changed over the years. I have been reading about under gravel, trickle and canister filters, protein skimmers, Ozone, UV sterilizers along with various things like phosphates, Nitrates and biological filters. How did I ever keep anything alive before? Do I have a tank set-up now the answer is no. I am apparently working on a PH degree in salt water technology with the intent of setting up a Fish/Invertebrate, heavy on the invertebrate marine tank. I plan on an 80 gallon tank as a minimum. I think to have an invertebrate tank with out any fish would make my wife wonder what I was doing and give her cause to believe I am going senile which perhaps I am. I have been reading “The Marine Aquarium Problem Solver" among other books & articles. Any advice or insight would be most appreciated.
