Do you think I might having trouble with two different kinds of Mandarin Dragonet Fish, one is the origin in the Ryukyu Islands and the second one is native to the Indian Pacific Ocean and Western Pacific Ocean. (Green Mandarinish and Ruby Red Dragonet)

As long as you have a male and a female you will be good to go. Otherwise you might if they are the same sex.

But if they are not tank raised, you better dump a lot of pods and I mean a lot!!! If your system is a newer system, you will not have big populations of pods. Thus the need to constantly seed pods. They will eat up near 1k pods a day as a reference.

I have a pair of mandarins, a pair of Ruby Reds and a Pair of red dragonettes. They all ignore each other completely and I have been keeping these fish for many years .

You can see all those fish you mentioned here in my tank at a feeder I designed. They all get along.

I have run into problems, when it’s male male or female female mandarins. Within the same dragonet family of fish not so much. You have mandarine, ruby and reds. Kinda like the tangs. I had two powders that wanted to kill each other. But a Tomni tang did just fine. Or a purple or yellow. But powder and powder was no good.

Will my statement be the case at all times and and law of reef tanks no. But…. It seems to be the case more than not. Fish all have a mind of their own. And in the end they are unpredictable. All we can do is observe and separate if need be, before it’s too late and one gets killed from being bullied.

Beautiful fish. How large is your aquarium to fit all of those?

How many bottles of Tigger pods would you say is enough for 1 Ruby Red?

I have a 70 gallon with 20 gallon sump. Added 1 full bottle in display and 1 full bottle in sump and they were gone almost instantly it seemed.

And the Ruby Red is struggling big time and not eating anything

You could try TDO pellets- small and slightly crushed. My WC Mandarin eats those no problem.
