Is the OP going a bit too fast and doing things that are highly inadvisable? Yes. However, there is a difference between offering advice or just bashing somebody for there mistakes.

Thanks, man. Only other thing I've lost so far is a peppermint shrimp. Think he had a run in with a yellow tang...in a dark rocky crag...in the middle of the night. :) Everything else seems happy in fishy land!
