I know it has only been a few weeks but was curious on how the new skimmer was doing. I'm looking at buying one soon and you have about the same set up as mine..

It has been great. I have no complaints about it at all and it seems to perform better than any of the other nano skimmers I have used. It’s also been completely silent.

I have run same skimmer same tank for near two weeks. The thing skims like nothing else I have had on my nano tanks. Have run IM Ghost Skimmer, biocube skimmer. A lot of the criticisms I heard seem untrue or only apply to older revisions. Only thing I can say is it makes a bit of humming mechanical noise (like most larger skimmers that'd go in a sump) but also not anything loud (from a few feet away can't really hear it and other noise usually masks it). Only other thing I worry about is the pump lasting as there were a number of reviews mentioning pump failures. Given that Cadlights have sold a lot of these and there are only 4-5 of those reviews I'm not really that worried.

Got her nestled into her temporary home in the laundry room for the next few days while our new floors are being put in. This was so much easier than trying to tear down and move a standard tank with a sump!

Alright guys and gals. I have a line on something i have wanted for a while! I found a nanobox t5/led hybrid that i am really considering picking up If i can scrape the money. It has 2 t5 bulbs and 3 of the v3 led nanobox clusters. Do you guys think i should make the switch or keep rolling with the prime hd’s? I have been considering adding another prime to.

So...it was a busy Friday....fragged out my Dragon Soul Torch and traded it for the Reef Breeders 32v2. This puppy is like new! Also decided to ditch the Smart ATO that would randomly beeb for no apparent reason, for the new Reef Breeders Prism ATO. Super nice little ATO for AIO tanks, or any tank really but its super compact.

So I ran the light for a bit with the leg mounts, which was not gonna work for me. Friday I got to work on the hanging mount, replacing the ATO, painting the skimmer, replacing the IM Desktop reactor with a larger Two Little Fishies reactor, and bringing some sort of order to the electrical cords.

I spent a while “weathering” the galvanized pipe. Then painted the gold stripe on the light to match the stand. Next step is adding the second Tunze 6040.

Here is the current situation, let me know what you guys think!

Also got rid of one of my BTA which made my gold nugget clown losenhis f***ing mind and start reaping havoc on everyone in the tank. Sooo he gone. Traded hi, at the lfs for a cool little ocellaris clown. Then added a sapphire damsel for that nice electric blue color.

sorry for the crappy pictures. Just like my kids, they do not sit still for photos.

I absolutely love the industrial pipe light mount (was contemplating doing something similar myself), also love the pallet wall - looks awesome.

Thanks a lot! I debated it over the back of the tank mount, which would allow me to hide the cord a bit better. This just fits the setup and location in the house much better I think. Plus its easy to modify for if there is a future upgrade!

Last week I was looking at the tank, while trying to shoehorn the second Tunze 6040 in, when I realized a minor re-scape was in order. One reason is because I could not make the second powerhead work with the original scape. The main reason was the recently added acros just didnt have the space and positioning they need. I also took the opportunity to thin out some of the corals I could live without. I then got ahold of an apogee par meter and tuned the lights to what I wanted. Even after all of that I still couldn't get the flow right with 2-6040s so I pulled one back out for now.

Here is the result:

Sorry for the poor picture quality. My iPhone wasn’t really wanting to focus correctly with the polyp lab lens this time.

Hey just read through your whole build, looks awesome. I started up my 30L in Jan and am running a very similar tank softies and LPS, do you still have any of your AI Prime schedules? I’m currently running 2 PrimeHD about 8” over the water and saxbys with a max of 20w, wasn’t sure if you have any suggestions. Thanks!
