I am looking at my ls-60 and I don’t have the armored seams. I asked BRS to help follow up with maxspect.Armored seams:![]()
Mine was in the return section I believe.I recently purchased the same in black and hope to finish setting it up this weekend. I've been slowly setting up my basement AWC/ATO/drain. I thought I would be GTG this weekend, but the included silicone section for the return pump was too short to reach the plumbing.
Mine also did not come with the black filter sponge. Anyone know what size I should be looking for?
Also, I see the one overflow sensor goes in the skimmer. Where's the best place for the sump overflow? I tried looking through various pics and couldn't find it.
For the below, looks like the evap cover is put on backwards. Fits perfect for me the other way (aka round hole in back instead of front).

Holy moly, how do you keep your sand in place at +50 on the gyre? Mine is at the lowest setting and sand is still displaced and piled up. What's your secret?!![]()
Here’s the update. It’s fully cycled now. Still dealing with some diatoms, I’ve upped the return pump up to 9, skimmer is at 7 and gyre is at +50. What are you guys running yours at?

Point the gyre toward the surface of the water on the other side of the tank.
Thanks! I finally found the mounting tab for it. I really should’ve taken better stock of the sump before I installed in the cabinet. Being 6’4 and working in that small space is tough.Mine was in the return section I believe.
I pointed the gyre at a 45 degree angle toward the surface. With that I’m able to crank it up to +50.Sharing my setup - I had trouble with flow as well with the gyre being too strong - my setting is -50 to reverse the flow otherway - but thinking of jarheadpilot did, I should point it the other way. I have been using waterchange mode instead of feeding mode. Still work in progress.

Tank is looking good, I’m enjoying mine minus the equipment that came with it….lol. Anyway curious my display on front of door all of a sudden started staying on, can’t figure out how to get it to cut off without cutting the power , any thoughts?
If I try to change it from random to pulse it will blow a hurricane in. It’s crazy, then I have a hard time getting it to go back to random. I have it at 60% random mode in my ls-90. . Feeding is menu and + so the middle and right buttons (or atleast on my ls9o, I assume the 60 is the same). See attachedMine is the opposite. Previously it was staying backlit, but now it's not. Also, how are you guys manually entering feeding mode? I read press and hold the + and - buttons, but that doesn't seem to work. Also, it automatically makes the Gyre +10% which is wayyyyy to high for feeding.
Also on that note, I'm not seeing much difference between +10 and +100%. I wonder if mine is stuck at one speed, regardless of selection.
