Megabite's 180 Reef - Round 2

Nope. I think my AMS is bad. I submitted a ticket.
I had a weird issue with mine tonight where it said it couldn't feed filament and told me to check a couple things. I couldn't find any issues and tinkered with it for a few minutes before it went on to print for several hours without an issue.

I did learn an important lesson tonight to let prints sit for a while after they finish to let the bed cool before trying to pop them off! I printed a clip on poop bucket and was so excited to put it on when it finished I tried to remove it too soon and disfigured the bottom a bit trying to get it loose when things were still too warm!

It can also rip the coating off of the build plate, especially the Smooth PEI Plate.

Good to know! This was the textured one it came with. My wife also got me the smooth one, but I dont quite understand when to use the different plates yet.

There are times when you can't have, or at least don't want, a textured side on a print. It may also be you need different adhesion qualities. If I had a tall PETG print with a small plate contact area I'd consider the Smooth PEI plate.

A word of warning PETG sticks to the Smooth PEI very well. I use Windex if I use the plate for PETG because I destroyed my first Smooth PEI Plate even after it had completely cooled. You can also use plate glues. Glues can be used to increase adhesion and, at times, to decrease adhesion. I would not use the Windex in the example above and rely on the stickiness of the smooth plate to hold the print and hope the small contact area would allow the print to come off without hurting the plate.

So you got a printer, congrats! I tried to rip off my first prints too soon as well excited.

Haha, poop shoots. One of the first few things everyone prints. Get the free version of Fusion and fiddle with it when you have time. After you get bored of printing everybody else’s design, you will enjoy doing your own.

Happy printing!

I didn't... The first thing I printed were some brackets for my gyres. 😬

I just use a mason jar for collecting the waste.

Me either, of course I started with an Ender so poop wasn't a thing. After I printed a Benchy and a calibration cube, I designed and printed the media baskets for my lagoon. When I got the A1 and A1 Mini though, it wasn't long before I printed little clip on poop collectors. They don't have a chute so the stuff goes everywhere.

I wanted to put my printer in my home office, so I did everything I could for a small footprint but have everything together. So after a few prints of various things, I went with the base and top which incorporates drawers, poop shoot, plate holders, etc. I really like how it came out for my needs.

Very slick. Do I see room for 40 spools in that cabinet? Now, where are you going to put your next printer?

Thanks. Yes, 40 spools. I got the stand on Amazon.

Well, if I get more printers. I have huge space in my basement where I could set up a farm if I wanted. I put this one up here since it was my first printer and wanted easy access as I got familiar with it.

You were probably expecting it to work as I would have. Hope they’re responsive.

Now i gotta figure out how to get it into Bambu Handy...🤣
Haha! I was there at the beginning too. DL file and open with Handy should do the trick.
