Amazing pics, were these taken on your Canon R6? I just got a hold of my moms old Canon EOS 70D and I am trying to to figure out this photography thing.I was doing some routine maintenance in the tank this afternoon and took a bunch of top down photos of many of my corals.

For sure, I am excited to learn. I have a 18-55mm lens for it and a 55-250mm lens for it. I am tempted to get a 100mm macro lens but so far I have had decent success with the 18-55 lens and I definitely just need to learn more before I start spending any money on anything.
The 100mm 2.8 macro is a game changer. There are plenty of used ones for sale in places like Marketplace to get one much cheaper. Thats what I did for my 100 macro. Got it for a fraction of new.
Do you use the 100mm Macro for fish as well?
Yes, but it’s a bit more difficult for me as I have to stand back some due to a narrow FOV and I have a lot of reflection from windows. It’s easier with my R6 being a full frame as I can be a little closer. My 7D (like the 70D) are not full frame bodies and have a crop factor of 1.6x making 100mm lens shoot as a 160mm. You have the benefit of more reach but at the expense of FOV. There are plus’ and minus’s to both types.

The FTS was from 15’ to 20’ from the tank. The fish pic from a foot or two.

I see one in your picture but I figure I need one because I travel for work every now and then for a few days. I'm using the Neptun one as I have an Apex. It's all automated so I have the return turn off a minute before feeding and on again in 10 minutes 3x a day. There are a lot of good feeders out there that do not require an Apex. Also, turning pumps of is optional. If you feed with pumps on, a feeding rings is nice to allow the food to sink and not just go to the overflows.
