Megabite's 180 Reef - Round 2

I had to replace the hotend heating block in my A1 when I had a blob-of-death happen. I thought for sure I was going to break the thermistor wires. I bought a spare thermistor and hot end fan just in case but lucked out on both.
I took the silicone sleeve off my Ender Max and turned the heat up to like 260 and pulled the blob off little by little. Still have a spare hotend sitting there.

I'm actually considering firing that bad boy back up and printing some stuff again - especially if the Bambulabs is still not working after I mess with it some more tomorrow.

"Failed to extrude" error. Tore the hotend and all apart and removed a small chunk of plastic but still no go. Going to have to tear it down a little more.
I did not know that "Failed to extrude" was a thing for the P1S. I know it is a very common error on the P2S. I had it happen on mine. Did a number of cold pulls. Took the extruder apart multiple times. Nothing seemed to fix it. I contacted support and the sent out a new extruder. While I was waiting for the extruder, I got to thinking that it might be the tension spring so I started making 1/4-turn adjustments. After backing it out 1.75 turns, it started printing without an issue. The new extruder came but I never installed it. I presently have a couple hot ends and multiple tips in various sizes. Probably could have skipped buying .02 and .08 tips as I don't think I'll ever use them. Maybe the .02 on something that needs to be super fine but I have not had a print like that yet.

Took me about 15 minutes to design the clip. I’m starting to get more proficient with Fusion. As for the stand, that’s debatable. 😊


Most pictures with a Canon D7 and most recent with a Canon M6. Macro shots with a 100mm macro lens and others with 24mm-105mm lens or iPhone.


On my P2S I broke the temp sensor wires that attaches behind the extruder. Had to replace the sensor. It’s 2 little wires and break easily.
I know about 10% more than I knew from when I first started Fusion. Enough to be dangerous.

Canon makes a M6? I thought you bought and R6?

Yep, the spring is the next adjustment I'm going to be messing with once I finish my "get done before it's 130° outside" chores. Gotta fix the pool pump piping and then go to my sister's house and replace her hose bib that's leaking.

I loosened up the screw about 1 full turn and it's now loading but still requires a little bump from me to get past the initial entrance to the hotend. Started a 2 color print so we'll see what happens at the first color change.

It's good to know there are several of you on here that are very knowledgeable when it comes to 3D printers, so when I get one and inevitably have issues, I know who to ask for help!

I also bought a different size tips for the printer. I use the .04 for 99% and used the .06 once I think. I've never used the .02.

I really like fusion. Relatively simple to use after a while.

Nope. I think my AMS is bad. I submitted a ticket.

I don't know the p1s but guessing it may be the feeder assuming all of the PTFE tubing and connectors are good. I haven't had to deal with Bambu support. I'm curious how good they are.

What kind of spool is the filament on? The AMS has trouble with some 3rd party spools, mainly the cardboard ones. It is also possible there is a jam or stripped gear in the AMS feed.

So far when I've reached out they've been fairly responsive. My camera wasn't working and they sent me a new one no questions asked. The printer was brand new. The assembler forgot to plug it in. Now I have a spare. 🙄

It's two different spools, two different feeders, two different filament types. PLA for support and PETG for the print.

I haven't tried the other two recently to see if they're not working also. My guess - the extruder jammed with the black PETG causing the gears in the feeder to strip partially then the PLA for support loaded and those gears messed up also. The PLA is the one that doesn't work at all now, the PETG needs a boost every now and then.

I was going to suggest checking the filament buffer also but from your description it does sound like it is the AMS itself.

Yeah, I considered that but sometimes it starts "grinding" before it even gets to the buffer.

They actually just responded and they want me to check if it works post AMS by using the rear spool holder without the AMS and then cleaning/checking the AMS Hub Unit for damage.
