I have a clownfish who seems to have velvet or some type of internal parasite (clownfish has white stringey poop, lethargic when eating, sitting in one spot) I've been mixing one scoop of metro and focus and blending it with frozen brine shrimp in RODI water and couple drops of saltwater and leaving for 30 min. I fed the clown the medicated food four times already (around a week), but the clownfish does not seem to be improving at all. What am I doing wrong?

It is extremely difficult to dose metronidazole orally (first) - second Velvet does not cause white stringy poop. Third - most of the time white stringy poop does not mean parasites but rather is diet related. If you were treating with oral food - I'm not sure you're using the right timing of dosage. Can you give any more information - with regards to quarantined, etc? https://www.reef2reef.com/ams/proper-dosing-of-medicated-foods.780/

before any assessment, please post a pic or two if fish in question under white light intensity - no blue. If you are feeding Mysis and brine shrimp mainly, there may be excess mucus in the stomach lining giving this appearance. Is fish breathing normal or elevated and how is its current diet?
Metroplex must be used precisely by weight and makes food taste bitter and its not advised to use it Unless you have confirmed internal issues
Adding foods such as TDO pellets, LRS Fish Frenzy and plankton will change the color and consistency of the feces

I've been feeding new life spectrum marine pellets, but the clown has difficulty eating those recently so I feed brine shrimp with medication. The white stringey poop was the first symptom, but dissapeared now. The symptoms on the clown right now are being lethargic, hiding and not going for food as voraciously as before. The clown is also sometimes breathing heavily. I was dosing metro + focus every other day via the bottle instructions, but i think i will start dosing everyday now

Can you send some pictures with white light - and a video - it's unclear whether metronidazole is going to help (or hurt). As @vetteguy53081mentioned as well.

Please let me know if the video plays
Video slightly blurry but I can see fish and nothing sticks out as an abnormality. If breathing normal and feeding, keep an eye out for discoloration, and weight loss

hasn't been eating recently and gotten worse. Will go for food but spit it out immediately now. That's why i was worried. Thought it would've been an internal parasite... Thank you for the help though. If this continues, I might have to euthanize because I can't find solution anywhere.

If breathing heavy, may be gill flukes. If not breathing heavy, you can try a freshwater dip using tap water the same temperature as the display tank for 5 mins. Air stone optional which will give the fish temporary relief

I wouldn't euthanize that fish. FWIW, he is attempting to eat at least a couple times in the video - and you also don't know what he is eating when you're not watching. When I look I saw also at least a couple times where the damsel goes after it, and that may be part/all of the problem.

By the way - metronidazole has toxicity - it may be part of the reason he is not eating relates to the medication. I would stop that, and try a variety of foods and see if that turns it around.
