MH bulb

I want a new MH bulb since In due for a new one this month(mark 9 month spot).

What are some of your favorite bulbs other than Ushio,Pheniox,an ReefLux?I want to get a new one.

I run the Coralvue ballest as well...

Radium then phoenix. It would be very hard to convince me to use anything other than radiums.

When I had a halide, I loved using the 14K Hamilton bulb. It was just blue enough to make me happy, but not ridiculously blue. The bad thing I remember though was that it had pretty low par versus the competition.

I say Phoenix or Radium. I ran DE 250w 14k Phoenix and now run SE 250w 20k Reeflux. The Phoenix actually have a little more blue. I am not that crazy about the Reeflux. I want to try a bluer 20k bulb like the Radium or XM cause I have never seen them in person.

The Phoenix is more of an icy blue. You should definitely go with Radiums or XM 20k.

If Phoenix is out, definitely go for the Radium. It has great color and decent PAR.

Will the radiums run on a coralvue?and it has to be mougle end as well,that kinda makes a diffirence!lol

i run radium bulbs on my 250w dimmable coralvue ballast.. and they fire just fine..... and seem to last a bit longer the using a hqi ballast...

I have to agree. I was using Phoenix for the past few years and made the swtich to Radium. Radium first choice, Phoenix Second!

Are you just running a halide, or a halide supplemented with T5/VHO/PC? Radiums are nice for just halide, I use a Ushio and supplment.

im fixing to buy new bulbs two, bougth a used setup and the bulbs are about 8months old. right now they are double end 14k phoenix. after reading this im going to radiums. surprise that ushio didn't get voted for, heard they were pretty good, but i guess not as good as radiums.

I thinkn the reason ushio didnt get much of a vote is because they tend to run more blue. So people like them but if you want a touch of blue its better to get some leds or T5 to compliment the MH bulb. If the MH bulb is to blue you can make it whiter.

400W 14K Plusrite bulbs from 1000bulbs.com. $10 a bulb!! It's a nice crisp white- a tad less blue and iridescent than the Radiums. Don't get the 20K bulbs and the par is much lower.

Bottom line, nothing is like the Radium color but at $10 a bulb (and mine are running 14 months and still going vs. 10 months on the Radiums) it's a very decent tradeoff!

Ushios were left out of the mix since I have used them.

I like them,Ive used the 10k and the 20k,I must say,I think they are awesome bulbs.But,they are extreme 10k or extreme 20k...its really yellow or really blue!
