I got this waterbox 15 used about 3 months ago and the tank is stabilizing really good and coralline is starting to grow and coral are healthy. Last night i noticed this tiny little crack at the very top of the front pane. It only spreads through less than half the thickness of the pane. I have no clue how it got there or how long it’s been there. The crack being at the top experiences far less stress than being at the bottom however the fact that the crack is on the outside worries me because that’s the direction the water pressure force is acting which causes a slight strain in that direction which hypothetically would apply the directional force needed to open up the crack more as opposed to if it were on the opposite side which would do the opposite. What are y’all’s opinions on this? I would be devastated to have to buy a new tank and move everything but if this crack is going to spread then i know i’ll have to do it. Also the pictures make it look like a scratch but it is surely a crack.

I wouldn't worry too much about it, but just keep an eye on it and make sure it's not spreading over time.

This may seem off the wall. Give Safelite Glass a call.
