microb-lift special blend

has anyone used this stuff ?
i used bio pellets for 5 months with excellent growth and color results but had to pull the plug do to red algae on sandbed,on the 4th month i added MB7 hoping i would rid of this red algae but no luck.
i figured it has to do something with the tank being running for 10 years.

so i just started adding the special blend 2 days ago,
what i have for results so far besides the bad smell that lasted about 15 mins.
Where ever there was no algae the sand is very clean,algae is not spreading.
i havent had to clean the glass since adding special blend.
skimmer never went crazy but working.skimmate is not as dark.

if anyone has used it or is using it id like to know how long you been using it for.
did you stop after algae is gone.

cant believe this stuffs been around forever and dont hear much about it.
i do remember my father using it for his birds.

I used it for a while. Yes I think it worked well but not by its self. Manual removal of cyano on the sand and blowing it off any rocks was also nessasary. I dont think it helped get rid of the algae I already had but helped to solve the problem that caused it. While your at it watch how much your feeding and make sure you dont have any dead spots in your tank where stuff settles. Microb lift is no magic cure but I do believe it helps. Good luck
