Had this guy in QT for 5 days now. He’s scared of everything. Eats but darts out to eat and right back in the corner. He looks like this now. I’m assuming is stress color but could use a second opinion.

That’s how mine looked when he was stressed during acclimation. His color came back to normal once he was introduced to the tank and found his rock to perch on.

Looks like a typical color shift from being scared or stressed. Once you get him some live rock he'll most likely find a hole and sit in it for hours at a time. Eventually (at least all of mine have ) he'll be swimming out more and more. Just my experiences..

Yep, exactly it. Nothing to worry about unless 4 weeks from now the Midas blenny is doing the same thing. It should warm up eventually.

Do you have any pvc pipe in there for him to hide in? If not it may help him feel a little more secure having somewhere to hide in.

Thanks for the replies guys. I figured that’s what it was but it’s nice to have another opinion.

I have PVC in there too but he likes to hide up in the corner.

Mine is currently doing the same thing. Just starting to improve. Spends most of his time hiding in a large empty snail shell.
