Awesome build, do you mind showing us your return lines to the tank behind the drywall? Did you run the returns through the drywall????

I'll try and get some from the back. It's more difficult now as it's behind my control board. I may have some on my other phone... I'll look and see. But the short answer is yes, I ran bulkheads through the drywall so I could run a second set of returns. This allowed me to use 2 return pumps one pushing through the skimmer and the other pushing through the UV loop... This gives me redundancy in the event of a failure or power outage. It also allows me to tune the flow through the UV to exactly the rate suggested by pentair

Awesome photos , thank you so much for sharing.

How do you like the waterbox aquarium so far?

What is your opinion on build quality? Seems on glass , etc if you don't mind me asking.

What made you go framing tech stand and not the waterbox stand?

I apologize for the delay in my reply! I thought I had already replied to you when I read this comment...

At any rate I think the Waterbox is a very high quality tank, if you are in the market for a tank that looks high end but in these specific dimensions they are the place I would look to. The seams are all beautiful and I couldn't find any defects anywhere... One thing I don't like is their use of metric plumbing so adapting to US PVC sizes to hard plumb your sump or a custom sump is more of a hassle than it should be.

I went with the Framing Tech stand because I love the way they look, I like the fact every panel is removable so I have full access to the sump area, and I went with a custom larger sump, filtration, so the FT not having a divider wall inside the stand let me have more room to fit everything! Thanks for following along on my journey!

Anything new?

With the Holidays and everything going on at work I've been super busy and haven't updated my thread as well as I should have... With that said there has been continuous progress being made. I have added the sensors and the rudimentary programming to have the Apex AWC 2gal out of the display tank daily... It replaces this with newly mixed saltwater from my garage mixing station. The water removed from the display is used to perform a 1gal AWC on each of my QT tanks and then 1gal is removed from each and disposed of down the drain. It's pretty slick and all happens between 2am and 5am while my family sleeps.

I've done more to clean up my wire management and get things organized... I have gotten the mixing station fully automated and it fills itself with RODI when it gets low now on its own. I'll try and take photos of all this and post them to this thread...

I also added the first batch of fish, the Tang Gang to the display, they were supplied by Marine Collectors and are healthy and look great!

this looks amazing with great precision, following along!

Maybe I missed it but what is your goal for this tank. Mixed reef, SPS dominant?

Thanks for the compliments!

Slightly mixed but ultimately SPS dominant. All the flat surfaces are destined for acros... But I'll probably have some nice LPS pieces lower in the tank and in lower light areas.

NICE looking setup!
Looking forward to seeing the progress.

BTW, I'm SO glad you did "...more to clean up my wire management and get things organized."
Your wiring and organization was an absolute "MESS" actual LOL
(if only I were as "unorganized" and my wiring were as "messy" as yours)

Hahaha yeah... I'm pretty picky on the wire management so some of the original labeling was temporary until I got everything running. Now I'm going back through and putting permanent labels on everything.

I also got all the tubing running through my utility room mounted in an orderly fashion and labeled of course.

I ran a length of server wire raceway along the ceiling of my utility room and inside my tank stand to hide the main trunkline of wires and clean everything up a bit.

I also mounted a cheap Amazon tablet I got on Black Friday to a wall mount bracket and set up a permanent Apex display near the tank.
