Miracle Mud /Walt Smith Fiji Mud ????

Just picked a a 'new' CPR refugium from one of my son's customers who decided not to use it.
Is Miracle Mud worth the cost if stocking with Macro-Algae?

IMO no it's not worth it.

I have read it has a lot of contaminants in it......

I used it initially and ended up throwing it out. I saw no benefit. It was a PITA to clean the sump with it in.
