I bought a little watchman four days ago and this morning I saw him and now he’s missing there is a pistol shrimp in there but I don’t think they paired yet. But the live stock in there is two clowns one six line and my cuc. Has this happened to anyone and do you know where he could be I have looked everywhere.

I wouldn't worry about it, when I got my ywg it took about a month until he starting poking his head out of his hole. Definately don't go moving stuff around looking for it

Like I said, new fish do this. Ywg in particular can be skiddish. I actually forgot about mine and then one day it popped back up. Leave things be so your don't freak it out more. Patience is key bizzy bee

Is your tank reef ready? Is the fish small enough to fit through the teeth in the Overflow? I found mine in the sump once.

Mine disappeared for weeks and then we moved the rock around and found him. Lol. Now he has disappeared again. He is really good at not wanting to be seen.

Glad to know this is common. I’ve had my YWG a week, took a few day’s but found a burrow & was eating well. Now I haven’t seen him 2 days. I admittedly panicked and picked up my rocks carefully, saw no sign & put them back. Just hoping he’s not now buried.

Mine also...and he and the shrimp ended up in the refugium (digging holes in the refugium mud..over a year now; they are paired)...took about a month or two for me to spot them...they are doing fine eating all of the critters down there

I have a 20G 3 chambered AIO, I even looked back there & still didn’t see it. I have a mesh screen on top so I don’t think it jumped but really puzzled by this. It didn’t even show while I fed the tank. Will just have to be patient.

He might have gotten scared and burrowed in the sand.

I don’t see mine for weeks at a time. Everytime I start thinking he’s dead he will pop out for a second. It’s been that way over a year now since I got him
