I have a tank with the dimensions of 35.5 x 23.5 x 18. The glass is 10mm thick (.39). According to your calculator I should not run an MO10 on the tank because the glass is to thick. 1 MP 40 would be to much flow for LPS according to the calculator. But if the glass where thinner (.375) then it would be optimal to use 2 MP10s.

Would it be possible to run the MP10s? 1 MP40 would be no where near the optimal range for LPS.

If I run two MP40 on the back wall, 23.5” front to back, on the lowest settings, do you think it will blow the sand around?

Awesome. Thanks guys. If you set the controller to the lowest speed, does that make all the different settings (lagoon, reef crest, etc) basically run as a constant speed, or does the pump actually run slower than the lowest setting?

A single MP 40 on the lowest settings blows away my 93 cube! We also have a 65 with an MP 10 and it's good for that size IMVHO

No, the profile will remain but the volume of water it moves will be decreased. The lowest setting would be fine; I have two MP40s on our 75g and they're at max flow rates (they move very little water on the lowest setting).

I’m kind of in the same boat, I’ve got a 55 gal tank I’m setting up for soft corals and seahorses only. I don’t really need a lot of flow so I would like to run two MP10s on my tank but the glass thickness is 1/2”. So I’m wonder if I will run in to any issues trying to run the mp10s on 1/2” glass.

Creating a strong bulwark: Did you consider floor support for your reef tank?
