Oh, scratch that. I got it. Now I need to figure out what bearings these are.

Are there any numbers on them?

Great work, hope it works. Not nice having Cowboys rip us off..

May I question, I've a MP40wQD which when placed either side of 6mm glass the wet side judders and then slips off. I know sometimes this happens and it's just a matter of turning off and on again, however this wouldn't correct itself. So, I opened up the wet side and found the ceramic shaft had come loose at the base.

What the thoughts here gang? Do I just glue the ceramic shaft at the base (white rod) as on other MP40 powerheads I've noticed the white ceramic shaft should be still and not spin.

Thank everyone, in advance I apologise for hijacking the thread too.

If memory serves me right (and it may not, i am getting old after all ;) ) the QD part of it was actually something built into the controller, because you were able to upgrade your mp40 from the non qd to a qd just by buying a new 50$ controller and using the same dry side and wet side
https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/mp40wqd-upgrade-driver.html
"Driver upgrade or replacement for the VorTech pumps from EcoTech. Convert your VorTech EcoSmart controlled pumps to the latest in noise-reduction technology with the QuietDrive driver! Also can be used to replace a damaged or faulty driver on your VorTech QuietDrive."

I dunno. I just glanced over the comments on that thread where I thought they mentioned some differences.

@TheEngineer if I ever have problems after my warranty ends, I know where to take my MP40’s!

You can try gluing the ceremic shaft back on, but at that point i'm afraid a new wetside is needed, ran into this twice with my MP10's :(

Did you glue them back? Do we know what causes this? Could it be higher vibrations from the dis alignment when start up?

I did not, I replaced the wet sides. Mine sort of shattered so I couldn't reglue it. It could be caused from a number of things, most commonly is them being dropped. But over time the ceremic shaft wears down from being spun on constantly.

Current issue: how the heck do I get these bearings off!
They're pressed on, a long socket and a hammer works well, or you can pry underneath it from both sides with two flathead screwdrivers.

I thought this was a plastic collar. It’s not. It’s magnetic. Dang it.
