Updates 9/1/2011

I haven't done much but add some new corals to the tank. I want to use biopellets but I'll probably have to wait for a nice christmas present! I just thought I'd share some photos of the coral growth and new corals. I'm going to need to start dosing something soon if I keep buying them at this rate!

My last anthias. He's the only one that would eat well. I'm not sure I will get anthias again. even feeding 3 times a day wasn't enough unfortunately. I think the female that died may have had internal parasites.

Update 12/1/2011

I know it's been awhile so I figure I'd do an update. Things have been going great! I finally got the new red sea algae control test kit so I know my actual nitrate and phosphate values! Nitrate is at 0.875 ppm and phosphate is at 0.06ppm so it's not too bad. I still do run GFO so it helps a bit. I would really love to do biopellets but we'll see what kind of money I get for Christmas.

As for equipment, I just added the new hydor smart wave and I love it! so much fun! I want to get 2 smaller koralia evolutions to put on it as well. I was thinking a couple of 750s to go with my 1400s. Right now I have the smart wave set on 1 minute alternating pumps. My corals and fish really seem to enjoy it and there's no more crazy flow that disturbs my goniopora.

Looking great! I am still in process with my 125G but it should be up in a couple weeks. I like the rock work having lots of open fish swim room. I am going to try accomplish that too while still having room for my corals.
