About 8 months ago my fiance and I purchased a Red Sea Max 250...to make a long story short, he has control issues and I wanted to be involved. Our solution? He got me my own Red Sea 130! We got it for a great price, only downfall was he had to pick it up from the middle of DC and the guy lived on the 4th floor of an elevator-less apartment building. (I wasn't exactly remorseful when I heard this information.) The tank had already been established for 4 years, but I wanted to start from scratch. We ended up selling all of the live rock, corals and fish, and now here we are with my very own Nano Thread! :xd:

The tank has been up and running for 3 days now. Just starting to get that lovely brown algae. I've already done a few upgrades, and in my opinion it's looking better than ever! I welcome all comments, suggestions and tips. Happy Reefing!

Well, here we are about three weeks later. Everything is running great after a few tweaks, water testing perfect, and temperature is just right. Added some snails, hermit crabs, and a cleaner shrimp last week. Yesterday, I added a blue damsel (Rex), a purple firefish (Nala), and a six line wrasse (Timone). I also decided to add a few little frags I had been saving in the bigger tank. Kenyan Tree, Pulsing Xenia, and one little Radioactive dragon-eye zoa. I'm anxious to have my clam back soon, but I think i will give my tank at least 2 months.

I'm very pleased wiIth how everything is coming along. I can't wait to see what that one little Dragon-eye will become. I think the Zoas have become my favorite.

Hope everyone is having a fun day!

Looking good!

Good job on the nano I've been thinking of getting a 34gal myself but those small tanks scare me LOL but would look great on my night stand

Thanks! I highly recommend doing a smaller tank if you have a larger one already. Changing water is easy, I just make a little extra each week, and its so small I can wipe the glass and outside down in about 10 minutes. A tank in the bedroom would be amazing! I'd love to get my son a micro tank, I'm just not sure if he's really into the whole fish thing yet lol

Took a trip to Ocean City this weekend, on the way home stopped by Pacific East in Mardela Springs, MD. I highly recommend you stop by if you're in the area, but they have an online store also. Picked up a small colony of Fire & Ice Zoas, and a Tahitian Flame Angel who's gorgeous! I could easily go broke in that store. Here's some pics, the pictures of the flame angel and fire & ice zoas don't do them justice, after-all they were taken on an iphone.

A couple weeks ago my fiance took me to a local guy who sells coral out of his basement and picked up an Orange Ricordia, and some Mean Green Zoas. And from the big tank added an Acropora I bought a couple months back, and Mr. Clam, my pride and joy.

Tonight, the hubbs brought me home a baby Lawnmower Blenny, cutest thing I've ever seen. I'll post him up next time.

Happy Reefing!

Thanks! I had heard before you should be cautious with them, but when I found out he was from Tahiti I couldn't resist.

Can anyone tell me what this is? I'm pretty sure it's eating the sheddings from my shrimp, and it retracts back into its hole quite quickly. It's atleast 5 in, haven't seen him in his full glory yet.

looks like a bristle worm, some say its a beneficial scavenger, others say its a nuisance. I have one in my pico I cant catch for the life of me... they creep me out, plus when they get big they have to potential to catch small fish which is why I want it out of my tank. Ive got fish that max out at like an inch so I have reason to fret

Excellent member of the cuc. They eat dead stuff and leftover food that could otherwise foul your water.
