Switched back to the 320 not 380 kedsum pump as both the first and replacement kedsum pumps were extremely loud not the normal unslimed hum but a very loud audible clicking and no hangs inside the pump via the impeller almost like the winding inside was not even or switching correctly causing a studder each rotation that got worse as time went on
First pump I thought mabey to much back pressure killed it however the second pump wide open in a bucket did the same thing only faster
Shame cuz the kedsum 320 I have has been dead silent running non stop for over a year without cleaning it until a few days ago
I run open submerged led type uvc 7 w twin lights one sideways and one up and down both placed in middle of chamber so I have 100 percent contact with the water and really get a high percentage of contact time and the 7w led type are quite powerful as in I have 0 pods or live free floating anything it's enoff uv I melted a non uv resistant carbon bag that was not fun to clean up still finding pieces ever now and again a year later
So the chamber and transparent return tube stay clean
Anyway during the switch to the 550 I realized when I replaced the tubing with a larger diameter which did increase flow alot I left the original 90 degree fitting in and during the switch I started thinking about it and how much it might be restricting flow
so yesterday I got some new hose cut a longer piece and made it direct connect from pump to the pass threw in the wall for the return and holy crap was that the main restriction
The pump is now running at least twice a much pressure now and really getting fantastic rnd flow yhrewout the tank I'd say more flow then the original 240 and a 660 WaveMaker definitely more movement and I have yet to find a dead spot
So anyone else out there that may be following along with a 32 bio cube if u want more flow from the pump upgrade it or not remove the original hose and the 90 degree fitting and run a slightly larger hose straight from the pump to where the 90 fit originally and if positioned right the hose is a nice soft curve
