Switched back to the 320 not 380 kedsum pump as both the first and replacement kedsum pumps were extremely loud not the normal unslimed hum but a very loud audible clicking and no hangs inside the pump via the impeller almost like the winding inside was not even or switching correctly causing a studder each rotation that got worse as time went on

First pump I thought mabey to much back pressure killed it however the second pump wide open in a bucket did the same thing only faster

Shame cuz the kedsum 320 I have has been dead silent running non stop for over a year without cleaning it until a few days ago

I run open submerged led type uvc 7 w twin lights one sideways and one up and down both placed in middle of chamber so I have 100 percent contact with the water and really get a high percentage of contact time and the 7w led type are quite powerful as in I have 0 pods or live free floating anything it's enoff uv I melted a non uv resistant carbon bag that was not fun to clean up still finding pieces ever now and again a year later

So the chamber and transparent return tube stay clean

Anyway during the switch to the 550 I realized when I replaced the tubing with a larger diameter which did increase flow alot I left the original 90 degree fitting in and during the switch I started thinking about it and how much it might be restricting flow

so yesterday I got some new hose cut a longer piece and made it direct connect from pump to the pass threw in the wall for the return and holy crap was that the main restriction

The pump is now running at least twice a much pressure now and really getting fantastic rnd flow yhrewout the tank I'd say more flow then the original 240 and a 660 WaveMaker definitely more movement and I have yet to find a dead spot

So anyone else out there that may be following along with a 32 bio cube if u want more flow from the pump upgrade it or not remove the original hose and the 90 degree fitting and run a slightly larger hose straight from the pump to where the 90 fit originally and if positioned right the hose is a nice soft curve

Pics of test 1 and 2 and 3 of coral placement I did alot of research into the interaction between difrent coral and so far all has went well the plays and montie are getting along just fine the richordias and plays are also getting along just fine and the candy cane and Duncan are killing back the clove polyps keeping them mostly on the back wall everything is passed off right now cuz of the daily peroxide treatment for cyno I have to do otherwise it comes back and no it's not a water quality issue it never is when I have cyno or is it flow related cyno is just one of those things iv never in 10 years been able to get rid of completely only keep it in check via peroxide 1/2 tsp per day in about 25 gallons of water keeps it located only in the lighted refugium
I'm pretty sure the cyno is due to the house lights in the kitchen being to bright and giving the cyno the right spectrum to thrive but I love to cook and I need my 65k light bright in the kitchen and where the tank is at is the only place in the house it can go

Sps is of the montipora family iv got 3 difrent types a full plate a plating and spiky one and then the finger growing size branching one

LPS is a candy cane and a Duncan no room for any other as the tenticals can get to long so I stuck to the short guys

Then iv got palys richordias zoas and cloves

Just a quick update so far so good on coral placement only 2 that are not getting along as well as I hoped are the Monti richordias on the left no damage done just the richordias are shading the Monti alittle but no big deal the rest are intertwining vs compeating

The branching monti is most likely a digitata and the plating one is a
Montipora capricornis
Yes the branching is a digitata 110 percent sure the Capricornis sounds right I'd say 80 percent sure and the spikey one was different can not remember the names off the top off my head but I did know them when I picked them lol now there just Monti to me similar to the zoas and palys and richordias I do know the LPS types and the gorgonian but I group them in memory by care requirements and type

The LPS I have are each alittle difrent in care the Duncan eats durring the day and takes an hour with 0 water flow the candy cane eats at night and takes about 10 minutes of 0 water flow but same food that's why they each have their own group

Just a quick update not anything new just growth progression

Also the clove polyps hate peroxide I finally figured out what was killing them the same amount of peroxide that kills cyno kills the clove polyps that are large like the green pink ones I have on the back wall not the micro cloves that are purple it does not do anything to them which if fine with me as I like em

But for anyone out there wanting to get rid of cloves try peroxide mine apparently hate it

Or it's then blue life Flux for bryopisis but I ran it for 3 weeks with no effect until I did a peroxide treatment and killed over half the cloves the ones on the back wall are the ones that are the worst the ones on rocks it didnother much not sure why

Been a few but all is well rearranged the tank

Going to lose most if not all of the soft coral

The micro cloves and sps are taking it over which I fine going to get some more digitata for the tank here soon

LPS and sps are growing nicely

Redid the tank again for more dimension and in preparation for getting a few new montiies in the next few months I really like how it turned out will get a better pic tommarow when clear and sunny
