I have a decent amount of Aiptasia in 1 of my tanks and we love tanks in the house so.. I picked up a Fluval Spec 5gl, and placed an order for berghhia. I will putting aiptasia covered rocks in this while the berghia grow and then intend on moving some to other tank. Hope to hatch them as I figure this is going to take more than a couple rounds.

I want to watch these buggers at work and figured what better a way then buy a bunch and place rocks in 1 at a time and watch them get cleaned.

Will update with pictures when I get the Berghia in and put some of my rock in.

This is just a small bit aiptasia. Ya ya I do not mind the invasive GSP or Xenia. I have become quite the farmer what it comes to that. Letters dropping constantly
Shoot my Bubble tip is starting to get a little ridiculous in itself. Keeps splitting like crazy.

Just picked it up tonight and it is a nice little tank. Daughter has Fluval Edge which she has a little planted tank setup(acutally she has a few). Like the Edge a little better but no complaints for a little setup. Will be easy maintenance and the light is pretty sleek

Nice! So will you cultivate aiptasia for a long term food supply? IME they decimate aiptasia populations but always leave traces that come back after the berghia crash.

Definitely subscribing haha would like to compare yours for a future project. Heck might move my current nano to a different corner in my office and do this.

Yes I am going to give cultivation a try. I know there are others in the area with Aiptasia so if I need supplies I will trade them for infested rock. Figure I need a few rounds at least.

My daughter and I were just looking at things (her eyes are better than mine even with glasses and magnify glass) and they are already laying eggs. Counted 4 clutches on quick look. Also watching 1 of the nudi chewing on a Aiptasia. I set the go pro up to see if I can get some good time lapse shots we will see how that goes.

Awesome!! You can always do stuff to the aiptasia to cause it to multiply. Like poking a knife or needle at it. Maybe blasting it with h2o2? I would hate to see those guys die so quickly.

So noticed a couple good sized Aiptasia gone this morning and the previous day.
I added an additional rock with a nice amount Aiptasia. Also keeping watch for wandering Berghia. If they are white I am moving them onto the bigger rock as there is more food. As stated in information I read if they are white they have not eaten in a couple days so best to move them closer to patch if possible. I have spent more time looking at this than I have my other tanks the last couple days :)
Also some egg cluster which are the circular looking things in last pic
Here you can see 1 berghia next to some closed Xenia and Aiptasia

Really cool! I wanted to do this too. One thing to be careful about with using LR in your grow out tank are copepods. They are major predators of berghia eggs.
