Speaking of popping, this escapee from my now colony of WWC Lemonhead mushrooms is looking large and in charge, he’s even got a litte buddy who’s escaped with him in the background!:D

Most of the time, it's not flooding onto the floor. So that's a plus!
"Slow" would be the best description. Not a bad thing, but certainly makes it hard to keep the excitement up...

My excitement waxes and wanes as well. I’ve tried to make the way this tank operates as hands off as possible because I know me. It’s worked except I let the nutrients drop over the last year, so I’m trying to get it all back in order now. You’re not alone, my friend!

It’s interesting how your ideas of “fun” change over time, as an aquarist. Back when I was younger, I loved bringing home new corals and being excited about the new fish I’d never seen before. Fast forward 30 years, I don’t enjoy coral shopping or buying new corals (WWC live sales made it fun, but that was for different reasons than the corals themselves). The new “rare” fish isn’t as exciting as it once was, or the weird one doesn’t evoke the same physiological excitement response. But now I find my most enjoyment from watching new corallites appear, and just watching the tank slowly bl0om. Maybe I’ve “matured” with the tank .

I can also relate to things when they all seem to go wrong in spite of your best efforts, that’s the most frustrating of them all. Good luck my friend!
