Made some progress today. Put a lid on the overflow, shortened my drain tube and got the algae scrubber up and running. All in all, a good day!

Thanks Ryan! I'm not seeing any signs of algae growth on the screen yet. I don't know if its rough enough. The skimmer is definitely pulling out gunk.

Lol, your probably right Mike. I really want a mandarin dragonett. I've read an algae scrubber is the best way to grow pods.
I can see the first signs of algae growth on the screen this morning.

Lots of rock and fuges are the best for pods IMO. I built a large pod condo in my sump out of those plastic currogates signs. It does a good job. If I shake it, they fly off like roaches! Lol. I plan to make another soon. Ill take some pics.

I'd like to see some pics of it. I want that mandarin dragonett bad. I was so close to picking one up last night at the meeting. Ryan was my voice of reason though. I basically have a brand new system and it needs to mature.

Thanks Ryan! Yeah that feather duster is pretty cool. I want a coco worm also but they're a little more sensitive than a feather duster.

Great advice, give it at least six months if not a year before adding one. I had to get rid of mine when I set up my 110.

OH and that Video is from GARF. I got my idea from them. I basically to 10 5x5 squares and stacked them and held together with zip ties. set them flat in the bottom of the calmest area of my sump and put a piece of live rock on top of them to weight them down. I now see TONS of pods cruising my sump. I am sure they get sucked into the return pump on a very regular basis.

Thanks man, interesting video. I'll have to see if I can put that in the scrubber section of my sump.
