Been 2 weeks since I raised the potassium level and corals really look better every day. I am going to just keep everything the same:

Dosing 1-2 drops of phosphate rx a day
Dosing FWS everyday
Dosing Fuel when I remember
Along with doing a 20 gallon water change every week which is around probably 7-8% of my water volume of this system.

I have had to raise my calcium reactor drip usage over the past week along with using more kalk as the alk consumption keeps increasing and the KHG is amazing at showing me this :)

I do test my alk everyday recently just to make sure the decrease in alk that the KHG is showing is accurate and it is. I need to stop being lazy and take some updated pictures.

Phosphate is down to 62 ppb (around 0.2) which is still a lot higher then I want. I want to be below 30 (0.10), but I am doing it slowly with the phosphate rx

Last solid picture I took of my gold indo colony before I fragged it tonight.

SPS is doing great as everything is really stable and I continue to just keep it simple

Phosphate was down to 50 ppb so slowly continuing to fall. I am basting my sand every couple of days now too which my SPS like a couple hours after.

I am picking up a big chunk of homewrecker on Wednesday morning that I am excited about. I will take some pictures then.

Well I dont get home from vacation till Sunday and my alk is really low at 5.9 right now (can tell from the KH Guardian), obviously the corals are growing a lot recently. Really hope they will be fine since it was a gradual move from 7 last Saturday. I plan to do a couple water changes next week which I will use to raise the alk slowly.

Well everything looks good so far, slowly raising alk with water changes. I will be doing another small 20g tonight.

Tomorrow will be an exciting day. I have 3 coral orders coming in along with a nice fish order.

I am getting a supermale Golden Rhombodialis Wrasse and also a male Eightline Flasher wrasse.

I like mixing all of these together and letting them soak in selcon when freezing. I may be fooling myself but every since I feed a variety like this and selcon, my fish are a lot more active and colors are more vibrant. Especially on my wrasse.

I am having to dose potassium nitrate to keep my nitrates above 0.

The mix I made was 450grams of potassium nitrate in a gallon of water (3700 ml).

25ml of this should raise my tank's nitrate level by around 1ppm. I dosed around 100ml so 4ppm last night and this morning it was already down to below 2, I will test again at lunch.

I am going to see what this does to my phosphate too, hopefully this will help bring my phsophates down more. Last night when I tested it was 30 on the ulr so around 0.09 which I was pretty happy about.

Well I had some disaster that hit my main tank in the last week of July when I was on vacation. One of the power strips went out for no reason and I did not have the pumps or lights on for at least 48 hours. I thought everything was fine when I got home but then I got like a brown jelly on my SPS (didnt know it was possible) that spread like wildfire in the DT over the next 2 days. Luckily it has stopped with the help of koral recover from brightwells and then I have done a 40g water change everyday in my whole system (around 600g) for a week. Everything looks great again with PE but man I lost a lot of colonies in my DT. Luckily all the expensive colonies I still have. I am going to just keep things steady and not change anything, keep doing at least a 40g water change every week. The wild colonies I got from Tonga are still doing great and I think 2 have really great potential. The others just be blah but I knew that was the chance.

For my own notebook.

-Also I dont think I updated this, but I added my very large frag tank around 2 months ago (it is 10 foot by 4 foot made out of plywood) so my total volume now is around 600 gallons now.
-I have been dosing Flatworm Stop every day about 3 months now.
-Dosing a very small amount of Iodine everyday
-Dosing right now around 5-10 drops of Phosphate RX since my phosphate is high (last night was 180 on Hanna) as I had the skimmer off when I was treating for the brown jelly as that is what the koral recover called for.
-Doing a 40g water change every week.
-I also have a small amount of Red Sea Carbon just in a mesh bag in my sump to help with the yellowish water.

Test my nutrients last night.

My phosphates were 56ppb, so almost 0.2 and my nitrates were colorless on the red sea test kit. I am going to start dosing a little bit of potassium nitrate to see if I can raise that a little bit and hopefully phosphates will drop some. I dont want to do anything extreme as the tank is looking great so I dont think this will hurt at all, if anything it should help.
