Sorry, on patio at my nieces and my wife gives me dirty looks when I’m on my phone. Come to think of it she gives me dirty looks when I’m not on my phone. Could you put it in context so I can answer!

If I think I know what you mean I was losing pressure even with a booster. I changed out my resin and it went back to normal.

no i just installed a tds meter on my rodi unit. the filters are a couple of months old. the output is reading 8. i know nothing about it except it should be 0. its a 75 psi i think with 4 differnt filters

Hmmm, with relatively new filters and a good psi you should be at zero. Make sure you have the output for the tds meter placed correctly.

yeah its right. idk. maybe i should just change the filters and see what happens? which brings me to another question. my rodi unit sits outside in the sun. does that make the filters go bad faster?

Can we get a bit of history on this RODI system?

Make/model?

New or secondhand?

As far as sun goes, your biggest issues will be:

— extreme temp (RO membranes have max safe working temp; hot water is also less dense)

— UV degradation of plastic housings (my prefilter and DI housings are becoming opaque after over a decade mounted to a wall in a mini-shed with full sun exposure every time I leave the door open around noon)

— unwanted algae growth, especially in carbon block #2’s housing (no chlorine to inhibit growth there, and nutrients in tap water! — Mine started growing a green hair algae on carbon block #2… I promptly swapped the block and added a neoprene sleeve over that housing to prevent light ingress!)



I recommend getting a cheap enclosure like a plastic hose reel container to house the RODI system in, ideally not mounted on a south facing wall in full daily sun!

Did it happen all at once, polyp bail? Can’t really make it out is there brown goo on the top right one, bjd? If you can take it out and it smells like the worst thing you have ever smelled it’s bjd. Do you have cipro on hand? I hate to say this but the two that still have polyps look rough, zero flesh band. I took this picture for this exact reason. The torches are all retracted because they are pooping. Can you see the white flesh band running all the way down the skeleton?

Alright Jill, All’s not lost. I was asked if I wanted a torch that was on its way out and try and bring it back. It had no flesh band and was not happy. That was over 2 1/2 years ago, it the one closest to my birdsnest. Let’s find out if the other heads just bailed or bjd. List your parameters. Flows not to strong? If you take it out to smell dip it to make sure there’s not flatworms as well.
